Picking your wedding colors is easier said than done. As much as we’d like just to pick our favorite colors, it’s far more complicated than that. From the season to the venue, there are plenty of things that you have to consider in order to find the perfect color scheme for your wedding.
Keep your wedding season in mind
You may love bright, warm colors, but they can look out of place in a winter wedding. So, before you start deciding your colors, think first about when your wedding will take place. Cool tones are best for the winter months, warm tones for fall and summer, and pastels for spring.
Consider your venue
Take a good look at your wedding venue—what kinds of colors does it incorporate? If you see a lot of reds or oranges, for example, try to pick complementary colors for your table linens, chair covers, flowers, etc. If your venue has mostly neutral colors, though, (as many do) then you’ll have your options open.
Find colors that flatter you
This is your day, so it’s ok to be a little selfish when picking your wedding colors! Consider your skin tone—for example, if you have a cool skin tone, then cooler colors will look best on you—as well as your dress. Then, match your color scheme to match, or at least complement, those colors.
Think about your theme
Going for a holiday-themed wedding? Or maybe you’re leaning towards the rustic look? Whatever theme you decide on, make sure your color scheme complements it. A wedding held on New Year’s Eve, for example, should incorporate the greens and reds that we associate that holiday with.
Once you’ve settled on a color scheme, it’s then time to start choosing your wedding linens and décor. At Affairs to Remember, we have plenty of chairs, chair covers, table linens, and more for you to choose from. Check out our gallery or contact us for more information.
